Water Jet Sweden Delivers First Grand Twin Waterjet System as Second European Order Follows
Water Jet Sweden has developed a new dual-beam waterjet cutting system that combines the productivity of two independent machines with the flexibility of a single large-format cutting platform. The innovative Grand Twin concept has already secured its first installation in Norway, with a second system ordered by a customer in Southern Europe.

Designed for manufacturers handling a diverse range of components and production requirements, the Grand Twin features two independently controlled X-beams operating within a single cutting table. This enables two separate cutting jobs to run simultaneously, increasing production capacity while making efficient use of available factory floor space.
When larger workpieces need to be processed, one X-beam can be parked to create a single continuous cutting area, allowing manufacturers to switch between independent production zones and large-format cutting as required
Two Independent Cutting Zones in One Machine
The first Grand Twin system, an NCG 3090 Twin, features a 3 × 9 metre cutting table that can be configured as two independent 3 × 4 metre working zones or combined to provide a continuous cutting area of approximately 3 × 8.5 metres.
Each X-beam is equipped with its own PanelOne® control system, enabling independent operation, while both working zones are integrated within a common safety system.
The concept was developed in response to a specific customer requirement for a dual-beam waterjet system.
“We received an enquiry from a customer in Norway asking if we could develop a machine with dual X-beams. Together with the customer, we developed a solution that combines high productivity with the flexibility to adapt the machine to different production requirements,” explains Christian Svensson, Sales Manager at Water Jet Sweden.
Built on Proven Grand Platform Technology

The Grand Twin builds on Water Jet Sweden's established Grand range of heavy-duty waterjet cutting machines, developed for demanding industrial applications and the processing of large, irregular or complex workpieces.
The system incorporates the proven engineering and advanced cutting capabilities of the Grand platform, including multi-head configurations and the option of Beveljet 60 five-axis cutting technology.
A key feature is the linear drive system on the Y-axes, which enables exceptionally long cutting tables to be constructed while maintaining positioning accuracy.
“Our design enables the construction of machines exceeding 25 meters in length without compromising the required positioning accuracy. The patented gantry design is engineered to ensure consistent precision, regardless of the machine length,” explains Christian Svensson.
This combination of robust construction, precision engineering and configurable cutting capability makes the Grand Twin particularly suited to manufacturers requiring both high-volume production and the flexibility to process larger components.
Built on Proven Grand Platform Technology

Following the successful development and delivery of the first system to Norway, Water Jet Sweden has received a second Grand Twin order from an industrial customer in Southern Europe.
This machine will feature two cutting heads on each X-beam, including a Beveljet 60 five-axis cutting system, providing four cutting heads in total.
The configuration further demonstrates the versatility of the Grand Twin concept, allowing manufacturers to tailor cutting capacity and functionality to their individual production requirements.
“We see significant potential in the Grand Twin concept. It gives manufacturers the opportunity to combine high production capacity with a level of flexibility that would traditionally have required several separate machines,” says Lennart Svensson, CEO and Group CEO of Water Jet Sweden.
For UK manufacturers looking to increase waterjet cutting capacity or accommodate larger workpieces, Water Jet Sweden UK can provide technical advice and support in specifying a system tailored to their production requirements.
