WJS UK engineers came to the rescue in manufacturing 4 new exhaust flanges for a classic Honda road racing bike.
The Honda VFR750R, frame designation 'RC30', was a fully faired solo seat only racing motorcycle created for homologation purposes for the World Superbike Championship by Honda Racing Corporation (HRC); only 3000 were ever made, making parts difficult and sometimes impossible to obtain
An original item was scanned into IGEMS Cad/Cam software and reverse engineered. From there the drawing was dimensioned and nested for the manufacture of the 4 parts from 6mm titanium plate, taking less than 10 minutes for all 4.
The owner of this exotic machine had originally asked for a machining / finishing allowance to be added in order to recreate the exact tolerances and was amazed that the Water Jet Sweden model NCT could produce the profile and details to within 0.02mm of the nominal sizes.

Their apprentice engineer was tasked with the project as part of his development.
