OIL AND GAS
WATER JET CUTTER APPLICATIONS

The oil, gas and subsea industries commonly cut materials such as inconels, hastelloys and stainless steels in thickness up to 250mm. Extensive work is carried out to support R&D departments on prototypes and testing, together with serial production parts manufacture. Production of valve bodies, flanges, gates and many other parts are common. Water jet cutters have also proved to be an effective for the removal of flash from castings and forgings.
One major advantage of the abrasive water jet cutting process is that there is no heat affected zone (HAZ) in the parent material. Parts made from water jet cutters are reliable in operation as there has been no change to the material structure by adding heat. Water jet machines produce finished or near to nett shape parts with smooth edge finishes, reduced scrap and often eliminates secondary machining operations.
